My Philosophy on Health
Health is more than the absence of disease.
It is my philosophy that health involves the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our individual being and the relationships and interactions we have with others.
Taking the time to listen allows a trusting relationship to develop.
Along with the usual blood pressure, pap, mammogram, screening labs and physical exam, I inquire about family, work, relationships and self care at each annual physical. I believe our health is a function of all these aspects. We are our greatest gift. Self care is not an indulgence—it is my desire to see woman learn to rest and prevent illness rather than rest to recover from illness. And as we give so, too, must we learn to receive…to take care of our selves (refill our tanks).
It is my goal to share my expertise, knowledge, and experience to guide and empower my patients to be all they can on this journey we call life.

The greatest “thank you” is to care for the gift you’ve been given.

A Short Biography
I was born on a ranch in northern California and those roots hold me tightly to the basic needs of patients.
My undergraduate studies were at the University of San Francisco then on to the medical school at University of Oregon Health Sciences Center in Portland. Obstetrical and Gynecological internship and residency were completed at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio. I am Board certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
My focus is to spend time with patients and their unique lives.
I live in the San Jose area with my husband and two children. My passion is women’s health and life issues. I am involved with my children’s school activities, and volunteering with the community and the elderly. I enjoy reading, cooking, and spiritual pursuits. I, too, struggle with life’s issues, and listening to, and following, my heart.
I am involved with opportunities for women to talk in groups outside the office setting. In these groups we learn from those with expertise but also to learn from each other…and gain knowledge and confidence to take charge of our lives.
